 Black Bean Burger Recipe

I have an absolutely delicious Black Bean Burger Recipe for you that I know you will love! It’s yummy and dairy-free and gluten-free!  I also like it because it does not contain nuts.  Don’t get me wrong, I love veggie loafs that contain nuts but just not in burgers so much.

This burger recipe is so good and I think it’s because of the essential oils used in the recipe giving it extra flavor that you can’t get from spices.

Black beans are legumes like peas, lentils and peanuts.  So they are not like the normal bean you think of.  But black beans have so many health benefits!   They keep your bones healthy, lower your blood pressure, prevent cancer and even can help manage diabetes.  It’s nice to know the healthy side of food.

  • Among other benefits, black beans may help strengthen bones.
  • Black beans contain quercetin and saponins which can protect the heart.
  • Black beans contain around 114 kilocalories per half-cup.

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups black beans cooked
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper diced
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion diced
  • 2 drops Cilantro Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Basil Essential Oil
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs gluten free
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Rinse and drain the beans.
Put 1/2 of rinsed beans (1.5 cups), yellow onion, garlic, red bell pepper, Cilantro and Basil essential oil, egg, bread crumbs, and salt and pepper into a food processor or blender. Process until smooth.
Combine with the remaining black beans and stir. If the mixture is too sticky, add more bread crumbs until it holds together.
    Divide into 4 patties
Heat oil in fry pan and cook 6 minutes on each side. Be careful when you flip the burgers as they are very delicate.
While the burgers are cooking, cut up tomatoes, romaine lettuce, or other desired toppings.
Once the burger is cooked, put the burger on the bottom bun, top with lettuce, tomatoes, and desired condiments.
