Chocolatree Organic Cafe : Vegetarian and Vegan

May 17, 2013 By Colleen 10 Comments

I'd love it if you'd share this post:

My Review of Chocolatree Organic Cafe

Chocolatree Organic Cafe

In Sedona while vacationing, my friend and I were looking for a vegan place to eat and came upon the Chocolatree Organic Cafe.   It is a cozy eating place with a new age feel to it.

They use 100% Organic or Wildcrafted produce, including their seeds, nuts, veggies, spices, sea veggies and everything! And 95% of their menu is seasonal, based on what is available locally. The water used in preparing their food is from an artesian spring fed source, free of chlorine or fluoride, just pure water.

Their menu was rather limited but what we had was extremely flavorful. I had their Lentil Stew, Mushroom Fantasy over wild rice and a Green goddess salad. The Mushroom Fantasy was vegan, very earthy tasting prepared in a garlic almond creme spicy sauce. The lentil stew was thick and yummy. My friend had a vegan burrito that had unusual ingredients that were wonderfully flavorful. If you love salads you must try their Green Goddess salad! It was divine, having a herbal pate’,kale, romaine, sprouts, avocado, cucumbers, sprouted seeds, spirulina and a cilantro vinaigrette…YUM and Organic of course.   It was quite dim for dinner in the building so pictures of what we ate didn’t turn out well, but you get an idea from the photo above from their website.

If you aren’t expecting a large menu to choose from and love stews and salads this is your place.  They also have an online store!

I have to mention that they make their own dark and white chocolates here  and sell them worldwide. Their white chocolate is nothing like I have seen in stores and I was told that what is used in most places isn’t really white chocolate. They gave us a huge portion of white chocolate with peanut butter which was fabulous and certainly did NOT taste like the white chocolate I am use to getting in stores.

Visiting Sedona, Arizona, make Chocolatree Organic Cafe one of your stops.

Fabulous — I am going to be visiting my aunt and uncle in Payson, AZ and plan to take a few days to visit Sedona which I hear is beautiful.

I wish we had something like that around here. We have little to choose from in Baton Rouge! You would think we had a bunch like this, but we don’t. You can find a few more in New Orleans than Baton Rouge.

A very cool review, too bad your pictures didn’t turn out. I would have liked to see the Goddess Salad. I love that they use seasonal locally sourced produce in their shop. The white chocolate and peanut butter is something I would not have thought to mix together. Another type of shop I wish was in my area.
