Oh I love the fall but often if you garden or live in the country, as I do, fall is a busy time of year. Pumpkin Pie is one thing I love!   And it makes them more special if you can grow your own pumpkins, and prepare them for making pies.  Check out how I do it here!

I have a greenhouse so I grow pumpkins in there.  I live on the coast of Alaska and it is too cool for many crops that should be able to be grown outside.   In the fall I am busy harvesting and freezing last of my greenhouse crops.   I also am juicing my Rhubarb and getting it ready to freeze.  It makes a delicious punch if you mix it with orange juice and ginger ale or  7 up.

This is the time of the year we are getting things secured around the house, since we head to the Florida Keys at the end of October.  We got our apple tree picked.  I put most the apples into slices for cobbler in my freezer!

Fall brings crisp cool mornings and snow soon. The air is so pure you can see for such a long distance here!   We live across the Kachemak Bay.  So our view is snow covered mountains and glaciers…and of course the ocean bay.
