Dick’s Kitchen

May 29, 2013 By Colleen 16 Comments

I'd love it if you'd share this post:

 Dick’s Kitchen

DicksKitchen

Dick’s Kitchen is located in Portland, Oregon and highly recommended by my family.  My family lives in Clackamas, Oregon and they are Vegan.   They also love to find great Vegan restaurants.  They plan to take me here when I visit Oregon in August.    Dick’s Kitchen serves Vegetarian, Vegan and Paleo.  Their food is suppose to be delicious and they have a great selection of Vegan options is what my family says.

Dick’s Kitchen believes in Local Ingredients and this is what they have to say about eating with Local Ingredients:

“We believe good food is about relationships – with people, nutrients, the earth. We believe in sustainability, partnering with farmers and the humane treatment of animals. One of our greatest hopes is that people recognize that food is about change. Beyond seasonality, where freshness means supporting local farmers, sustainable and humane food can bring about change. In the health of our bodies, our communities and the earth.

The ingredients that make our food so karmically good and delicious originate with some of the region’s most responsible farmers and food artisans, many of them Food Alliance Certified. Depending on the season, you’ll find a dozen or more local stewards of the land who are committed to bringing you the best flavors our region has to offer.”

I am looking forward to eating at Dick’s Kitchen, I know it will be great since my family highly recommends it!

I grew up on Portland and haven’t been back in many years but remember there weren’t too many vegan restaurants to dine at back in the early ’90’s. With our family’s lifestyle changes to eat more healthy, it would be fun to visit the area again and try out this restaurant.

Deborah, I grew up in Portland too! I go back a few times every year. Portland has become a mecca for vegan and gluten free restaurants! So many to choose from!

I love that they use local farmer products in their restaurant.

I think it’s neat that the post I saw and read was about a restaurant in Oregon where I have family. I’ll have to ask them if they’ve heard of Dick’s Kitchen and if they’ve been there. Thanks for the review and conversation topic for me to use with my relatives.

Holly..I have to chuckle to myself wondering if my family would have tried this place without my BIL’s name being “Dick”….hahaha NO connection to this restaurant though 😉

Colleen I just checked out your site and it’s done well. I find my dietary restrictions to be so severe, that it’s punitive.Your site opens up good options.

Lisa Hesly..thank you. That is what I am here to help with. My grandson has so many allergies that I’ve tried to work in may allergy free recipes. I am dairy free, gluten free but my grandson also had to be nut free, soy free and more…..

It’s nice to have a recommendation for anywhere before you go. There is nothing worse than going in somewhere thinking it’s going to be good because of tv commercials, and then the place is just a big expensive dissapointment!

It is so nice to have a recommendation from people that know your taste. I am not vegan but my daughter-in-law is and I am always looking for information for her.

Yup that’s why I thought real live restaurant reviews would be a great thing for Vegan and allergy free!
