Pan Roasted Duck Breast Recipe
This recipe is for those of you who love spicy foods! Â How about Duck ala Creole anyone? Â My son really enjoys hot food so here is one of the recipes Becky is sharing with us. Â I must admit I can’t take the heat and prefer my duck with a sweet orange sauce. Â But I know you heat seekers will love this recipe. Enjoy
Pan Roasted Duck Breast Recipe (recipe modified from Food Network)
What you will need:
3 Duck Breasts
1 Tbsp olive oil
Creole seasoning:
2 ½ Tbsp paprika
2 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp black pepper
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp dried leaf oregano
1 Tbsp dried thyme
Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight jar or container
Putting it all Together:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Season the duck breast with creole seasoning. In a large sauté pan, over medium heat, add the olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the duck breast, skin side down. Sear for 6 minutes. Flip the duck breast over and place the pan in the oven. Roast the breasts for 8-10 minutes for medium rare. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the duck breasts to rest 2-3 minutes before slicing. Slice each duck breast, on the bias, into ½ inch pieces.

I’ve tried duck once. I’m not sure I am a fan of it.
My favorite way with duck is to fry it thin strips with onions…or through it in a crock pot to get the duck very tender with the onions.
I have never tasted duck before. I would love to try it. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
I have never eaten duck before but this recipe sounds amazing! I wish duck were available where I live.
Really Deborah no duck where you live? Most grocers, even here in Alaska, have duck in the freezer section with the other poultry.
