Real Clinical Results Revealed for CBG
New research suggests that cannabigerol (CBG) may play a role in reducing anxiety and stress without causing intoxication. CBG is a lesser-known cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. It is often called the “mother cannabinoid” because other cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, are derived from it.
Unlike THC, CBG does not produce a high, which has made it a growing focus in research.
In a recent double-blind, placebo-controlled human study, researchers evaluated how CBG affects anxiety, stress and mood.
Participants who took CBG experienced significantly lower anxiety and stress levels compared to those who took a placebo. Interestingly, the study also found improvements in verbal memory performance.
These findings are also supported by the published trial in Scientific Reports, which noted potential anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects of CBG.
Researchers believe CBG interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate mood, stress and sleep. It may also influence neurotransmitters involved in emotional balance.
However, this is still an early area of research. The study involved a relatively small group, and more long-term data is needed to understand safety, ideal dosing and consistency of results.

CBG is now available in oils, capsules and gummies, often marketed for stress or focus. As with any supplement, quality and formulation can vary widely.
If you are considering trying CBG, it may help to start slowly and talk with your doctor, especially if you are taking medications. While early results are promising, more research is still needed to fully understand its effects.
