Old School $15 Paypal Cash Giveaway

I'd love it if you'd share this post:

Thanks for stopping by for your chance to win Old School $15 PayPal Cash!   Do you have kids in school?  I know when I did, I use to love to have some free time while they were in school.  It wasn’t long…because I worked, but it just seemed like I had a bit more time to myself.

Well since our theme is Old School…I couldn’t help but share some old stuff.  My parents were raised in Cleveland, North Dakota.   Years ago, when I was doing genealogy research because both my parents were “illegitimate” as they said in the Old Days.   But that is another story….a long story.

Back to Old Schools, My niece and I went back to North Dakota to see where the family originally lived.   We went by the Old School house my father was raised in.  Boy the buildings are still standing and not in that bad of shape.  Things were made sturdier back then.  They lived close to the railroad tracks and had many hoboes get off and  walk to my great grandmothers home for meals.  They lived way too close to the tracks for my liking!  But, she’d make sure the hoboes were ok, and they’d stay a few days then head back on the railroads.  The school house was close by the railroad tracks too.  It was an emotional trip seeing and hearing all the stories of years gone by.   But I did love the look of that old old school house!

Do you have any Old School stories in your family?   Boy I’m learning new things all the time about skeletons in the closets diving into genealogy.

  1. I did go with my mom to visit the one room schoolhouse she attended as a little girl. She walked a long way to get there.
